As of September 5th, we are back in Redstone, CO. You may remember that we have visited Redstone numerous times Dan on a lunch break in front of the Redstone Coke Ovens while Dan is working on the historic Coke Ovens. Dan picked up another job in nearby Basalt restoring Charcoal Kilns, so I am sure we [...] As of July 5th, we are still in Colorado. We are camped above Central City, CO in a forest service campground. There is a late afternoon thunderstorm rumbling overhead. Dan is busy working on his Redstone Coke Oven project while I am laying on the couch typing. Ahh… our cozy trailer is home no matter where we are. Wildflowers along Mountain Bike [...] Even after living in Colorado for 10 years, there are still many areas we haven’t explored. Late summer/early fall was a great time to head into the mountains and escape the heat from the plains. The leaves were changing daily and the Ragged Wilderness, CO hiking was fabulous. We climbed our first 14er outside [...] We started our travels on April 27, 2007, leaving Lafayette, CO and heading west on I-70 into the Colorado Rockies. Our destination was Dinosaur National Monument with stops in Glenwood Springs, Rifle & Fruita, CO.
